Maximum productivity during punching and pressing processes

High-speed presses and high-speed punching presses are used where very large quantities have to be produced using thin sheet metal processing. The stator and rotor plates of electric motors and generators are a classic product for high-speed punching. Even small deviations in the tolerance can lead to eddy currents, which can cause overheating in an electromechanical component.

Each motor or generator requires hundreds of sheets with an absolutely identical shape. This requires a production process that is designed for the production of large quantities in a consistent quality. This is where MAWI’s high-speed presses and punching machines are used. Technically, the MAWI high-speed presses are designed as eccentric presses. They enable particularly high stroke rates and correspondingly fast cycle times. Since the material to be processed is always very thin during high-speed punching, a low stroke height is sufficient for these fast machines.

Advantages of the MAWI High-speed presses

High-speed presses are not converted eccentric presses that are operated with higher stroke rates. In order for these machines to actually deliver the desired performance, they must be designed for your task. The resulting vibrations are absorbed by solid base frames. These grey cast iron frames of a high-speed press quickly reach a weight of over ten tons. This, together with the dynamic loads occurring during operation, usually makes a machine foundation necessary. This makes the selection, equipment and installation of a high-speed press a particular challenge. We can offer you a “one-stop-shop” service for your high-speed punching machine. With us as your partner, your production of stamped parts is guaranteed to be a success.

We offer:

  • Research and selection of a suitable high-speed punching machine
  • Research and selection of machine peripherals
  • Precise planning of the installation
  • Organization of the necessary preparations
  • Installation and support up to the successful test run
  • Accident Prevention Regulations (UVV) testing and assurance of CE conformity

But our service will continue for you even after the purchase. We will gladly accompany your high-speed press during its entire use in your company. Through regular maintenance and inspection we help you keep the repair effort to a minimum. And if something does go wrong, we’ll be there for you in no time at all, and get your high-speed press up and running again. Take advantage of our experience and market proximity: We know what innovations and opportunities are available. This allows us to provide you with suggestions on how you can increase the efficiency of your high-speed punching press.

With an optimized controller for an efficient high-speed press

The extremely short-cycle manufacturing processes of a high-speed press require fast and reliable controller. If a production error is detected too late, large quantities of rejects are quickly produced. Avoid the production of incorrect parts, and trust us and our experience. We know exactly how your high-speed press can be optimally controlled. This ensures the maximum degree of reliability and a consistent quality of your products.

The SIEMENS S7 has become the quasi-standard in machine control. We use these PLC products for new presses and press retrofits. The possible options speak for themselves:

  • Drive with frequency control
  • Integrated press force monitoring
  • Counters
  • Remote access
  • Special applications and expandability

are only a small selection of the options that are possible with a Siemens S7 controller. Feel free to contact us anytime, we will gladly consult you.
